Members from S I Brixham gathered at a members home to fill 40 Shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child.

We delivered them to st Mary’s church and the boxes are destined for children in Malawi
Brixham Soroptimists held their 76th charter dinner at the Berry Head Hotel on 9th November.

We were joined by members from Torquay, Tiverton, Plymouth and St Austell and by our Regional President Daphne Dowsing.
A delicious meal was followed by entertainment and dancing and a fun evening was had by all.
Members of Brixham Soroptimist Club were made very welcome at the Bay tree restaurant in Brixham this week.

Members included Brixham club President Gill who welcomed SW and CI Regional President Daphne to the gathering.
Orange cafés are held all over the country and abroad to help highlight the abuse women and girls face worldwide.
Soroptimists Stand Up for women and girls helping to empower them to make positive lasting changes to their lives after domestic and sexual abuse. Members wear the colour orange as the UN designated colour which symbolises a brighter future, free of violence. Leaflets about our work were left on the café’s tables.
The staff at the café were very helpful indeed.
Soroptimists are taking action to end violence against women and girls worldwide.
A few members from S I Brixham gathered at President Jane’s home for a morning of craft.
Items such as glass fish and rag wreaths were made to sell at a Christmas craft show.
Light refreshments were enjoyed by the crafters and President Jane’s new grandson, Solomon oversaw the work being done.
A very enjoyable morning was had by all.
S I Brixham held a book stall on the quay for International Literacy Day .

In spite of the weather being blustery and windy we raised £80.00 which equates to over 240 books being recycled

On a rather windy August morning 17 ladies braved the elements for a coffee morning at a members beach hut at Broadsands Beach. Tea coffee cheese puffs and cakes were provided and with a raffle we raised £150.00.
Hopefully we will have another before the summer is over.
